Punctuality is a trait or characteristic to happen, arrive, perform a task or an event on time. It is a skill which is much appreciated in today’s time where Time is the new currency. No body likes to keep waiting for someone or to get their tasks completed. Punctuality and Time management Skills are the top most efficiency markers in any workforce organization. It has a direct impact on your productivity.

Punctuality can be inherent trait but due to certain other factors it could be lacking in an individual. Due to Psychological changes, a person could easily get off track and have punctuality issues.

In this article I have shared 10 few simple and doable tips that will help every one develop a habit of punctuality which can be sustained lifelong .

  1. Be disciplined and organized in your life. Whether it is at home or Office, time wastage in searching or finding things can be avoided by having a place for every object.
  2. Planning and creating a To-Do List helps to avoid last minute rush.
  3. Use Visualization techniques and repeat Affirmations to strengthen your self belief to reach on Time.
  4. Keep alarms to stay reminded about your upcoming tasks.
  5. Set up your watches and clocks bit faster than the normal time.
  6. Leave half an hour early from home to the designated place.
  7. Keep a book to read or a notepad to jot down ideas if you reach before early. You can use the time more productively.
  8. Keep everything ready before hand. For eg. Ironed clothes, shoes, accessories, bags, papers, wallet, laptop, chargers, etc so that you can avoid the last minute overwhelm.
  9. Have a morning routine in place which will help you set the tone for the rest of your day.
  10. Do reverse calculation if you have time blindness. Write down your tasks in detail which need to be performed before you leave your house. Calcuate how much time you need for each task. Note it down and accordingly divide your time in the reverse order.
